JUST IN: Appeal Court Upholds Okpebholo’s Victory as Edo State Governor
The Court of Appeal in Abuja has upheld the election of Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the duly elected governor of Edo State.
In its ruling on Thursday, a three-member panel of the appellate court dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo. The court found no merit in the appeal and agreed with the earlier decision of the election tribunal, which had declared Okpebholo the winner of the September 21, 2024, governorship election.
According to the panel, the appellants failed to prove that the tribunal made any legal errors in its April 2 judgment.
