Governor Umo Eno Hints at Political Shift, Says “It’s Time to Progressively Move”

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has hinted at making what he describes as a “progressive move”, while expressing heartfelt appreciation to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the platform under which he was elected.

Speaking during a gathering on Friday, May 30, Governor Eno took a reflective tone as he acknowledged the support and opportunities the PDP has offered him over the years.

“I thank our great party, the PDP. I want to say this from my heart — I respect the PDP, I love the PDP, and everyone here knows that,” the governor said.

He went on to reaffirm his affection for the party, saying no matter where his political path may lead in the future, the PDP will always hold a special place in his heart.

“Whatever happens, wherever the journey of life takes me, I will always love you,” he added.

Governor Eno, who described the bonds built within the PDP as strong and lasting, emphasized that those relationships will remain important to him.

“We’ve built strong friendships in this party, and I will always cherish them. Whatever you do, invite me — I’ll always be there,” he assured.

Concluding his remarks, the governor signaled a shift in his political journey: “But it is time to progressively move.”

His comments have since sparked speculation about what his next political move might be, though he stopped short of providing specific details.
