Nollywood Actress Tolani Akintunde Dies of Heart Attack in the UK
Nollywood actress Tolani Akintunde has sadly passed away in the United Kingdom after suffering a heart attack. Reports confirm that Akintunde, who moved to the UK years ago with her daughter, died a few days ago.
The news was first shared by media personality Seun Oloketuyi, founder of the Best of Nollywood Awards. Akintunde was best known for her roles in popular early 2000s TV shows like Everyday People and Palace. After leaving Nigeria, she stepped away from the spotlight and focused on her business ventures abroad.
Her sudden death has left fans, colleagues, and her family in deep shock. Tributes have poured in on social media, especially on Facebook, where the news first broke.
"Sun re oo Tola. You will be remembered for making people around you happy."
- Omotayo Elebijo, Facebook user
Her daughter, whose identity has not been disclosed, is said to be struggling with the loss.
Akintunde's death is another tragic loss for Nollywood in 2025. The industry has recently mourned the deaths of actress Monalisa Stephen, producer Rotimi Raji, and actress Nkechi Nweje, who was buried in Anambra State just days ago.
May her soul rest in peace.
